The reading
Hosts Nigeria take on Mozambique in Abuja in the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier, with the start expected around 2:30 PM IST. Playing at home in a qualifier brings familiar conditions and a home crowd, though it settles nothing on its own.
CrikTrik's reading names Nigeria on both calls. The toss reading uses the two captains' full names, and Nigeria's captain scored higher against the day's planets. The match reading uses the team names, full and short, and again the numbers lean towards Nigeria.
Those day planets are Mercury and Venus. The date 23 reduces to 5, which is Mercury's number in the Chaldean system, and Friday is ruled by Venus. Mercury is often linked with sharp, nimble play and Venus with rhythm and balance, which is a pleasant way of saying the day suits a side that keeps its composure.
This is the first of two Nigeria readings in two days: Nigeria face Lesotho on 24 October, with its own page here. For Mozambique, the following day brings a meeting with Uganda, also read separately. As with every CrikTrik reading, the result will be recorded here as a hit or a miss once the scorecard is final.
